What are RTAs (CAMS & KFIN Tech)?
When you invest in a Mutual Fund, your money doesn't just sit with the Fund House (AMC). It is managed and recorded by a Registrar and Transfer Agent (RTA). Think of an RTA as the official record-keeper of the Indian Mutual Fund industry.
What do they do for you?
Security: They maintain a secure, permanent record of every rupee you invest.
Accuracy: They calculate your units, process your SIPs, and handle your redemptions.
Statements: They provide the official Consolidated Account Statement (CAS) that shows your entire portfolio in one place.
In India, Mutual Fund houses are split between two main RTAs. To see your full portfolio, you may need to check both:
CAMS: Services fund houses like HDFC, ICICI Prudential, SBI, Kotak, and DSP.
KFIN Tech: Services fund houses like Nippon India, Axis, UTI, Mirae Asset, and Invesco.
MarketLens Tip: You don't need to create a new username! You can usually log in to these portals using just your PAN Number and a One-Time Password (OTP) sent to your registered email or mobile.
